Student Success Advisor Recognized with Achiever Award
Deon Brown, student success advisor at 海角社区鈥檚 Chicago Campus, is the recipient of the 2025 TRIO Achiever Award for Distinguished Service.
The award was presented during the 51st Illinois TRIO Professional Conference on April 24.
Brown joined DU in September and has been credited with guiding Chicago Campus students through their college journeys with compassion, insight and unwavering support.
Brown also serves as president of the Educational Opportunity Association Foundation, where he played a key role in establishing Illinois TRIO鈥檚 endowed scholarship fund. In recognition of his contributions, a $1,000 scholarship has also been named in his honor to be awarded to a deserving college student annually.
Illinois TRIO is an organization of directors, counselors, students, parents, educators and others who work to ensure access to post-secondary education.
