How to Prepare for a Great and Smooth Launch into your DU Experience
Below are several steps you will take to have a smooth transition into becoming a Dominican students.
1st Step
- Pay your tuition deposit and housing deposit (if residing on campus during your first semester)
2nd Step
- Send all your finalized academic records to DU (transcripts via Parchment website & AP/IB/CLEP scores via the College Board website)
3rd Step
- Sign up for a Student Orientation date; you will be sent a registration link to the email address you applied with to Dominican*
4th Step
- Make sure to take your required Math and Modern Language assessments so you can secure your Advising and Registration appointment
- First-year students who complete their assessments and attend a Student Orientation session will receive information to register for an Advising and Registration appointment.
- Transfer students will receive information about next steps for their Advising and Registration appointment after an audit of transfer classes has been completed.
5th Step
- Bring all your questions and concerns to your SOAR experience#
6th Step
After participating in SOAR, all students will be added to a Post-SOAR Canvas Course with further information and resources to ensure a successful start
*Summer SOAR registration typically opens in March and Winter SOAR opens in November. Submit any SOAR accommodation needs (academic or personal) at time of SOAR registration; ada@dom.edu.
#All students who have AP/IB/CLEP credit should review those credits via their course needs/degree audit in MyDU. Transfer students or students with dual enrollment credit should also review their incoming credit also in their course needs/degree audit in MyDU.
