Caritas Veritas Symposium
The Caritas Veritas Symposium is a treasured annual tradition at 海角社区. For one day during the fall semester, the entire university comes together to explore the meaning of our mission and motto through formal papers, panel presentations and interactive workshops.
During the day, the regular class schedule is suspended so that students, faculty and staff can give presentations or attend other presentations.

Embodied Work: Justice and Innovation
Our university mission statement affirms that as a Sinsinawa Dominican sponsored institution, we prepare students to pursue truth, to give compassionate service, and to participate in the creation of a more just and humane world.
On November 5, 2025, we will come together as a community and celebrate the 16th annual Caritas Veritas Symposium.
The Caritas Veritas Symposium was born of the vision of Sr. Diane Kennedy OP (1934-2025), a brilliant woman who loved the mission, lived the mission, and invited us all to walk with her in this work.
This year, our focus is stories of mission for this moment through the theme Embodied Work: Justice and Innovation. How do we embody and live the mission in our classes, our community, and our relationships at this moment?
